Amazing! The time has finally come - to start rebuilding. The walls are going up - and there's hope that we will be in our new house before 2010. Maybe. The inside work takes the longest and Barry keeps saying - we're not moving in, til it's all done (whereas I am saying - let's get in as soon as possible - we're ready to go home!)
Anyway - what a process this is going to be. The time for others to help is here. A couple guys from Bradco (where Barry used to work) have come to help - Bob McKenzie and Phil Thayer came on Friday night to help get the ball rolling. Phil gave Barry a DVD to watch along with the manuel so Barry could learn how to build the walls. Phil is a certified aarx builder - which is good to have someone in the know!; Jeff Carpenter came on Saturday to help, too.
I know more people will start coming forward - especially when it comes to do the framing. Cause there are more jobs for people to do. Barry is hoping to get it all framed in - and the shingles on (dried in) by the end of October. That would be good.
But for some reason - we're back in the rainy season - and it's getting cooler. Will be serving hot chocolate or coffee soon instead of gatorade! Might have to build a fire to warm their hands. (A controlled fire, that is!)
The forecast is scattered rain on Tues and Friday - but nice on Wed and Thurs - so maybe, just maybe, the walls can get done on Wed - and then the cement can be poured on Thurs - wow - so amazing.
Anyway - thanks so much for your prayers and support - we certainly appreciate everything you are doing - or have done for us this year. God is awesome - and receives all the glory.
Take care for now,
Sue
